Three friends, too many books.
Papillon Labs is a passion project shared by three close friends who read constantly — novels, essays, footnotes, the occasional cereal box. Somewhere in all that reading we kept wishing for tools that didn't exist, so we started building them ourselves: slowly, on weekends, mostly for the joy of it.
We're named after the papillon — a small, bright-eared dog whose ears look like butterfly wings. It felt right: a creature made of curiosity, always listening. That's the kind of technology we want to build.
